GRE Honors 'Homeboy' Priest at Annual Sapientia

Gregory Boyle, S.J., and several others were honored on Oct. 21 for service to the church and to humanity at the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education's (GRE) Sixth annual Sapientia et Doctrina event.

Pictured above are the awardees, including Father Boyle (top center) and Joseph O'Hare, S.J., president Emeritus of Fordham (to Father Boyle's left). Father Boyle is also pictured with Msgr. Joseph Quinn, vice president for mission and ministry.

New Book Release ~ Liturgical Press: Dr. Harold Horell and Donna Eschenauer(GSRRE alumna)



A new book, Reflections on Renewal: Lay Ecclesial Ministry and the Church, edited by Dr. Harold Horell(GSRRE) and Dr. Donna M. Eschenauer(Ph.D. GSRRE) has been released. Contributors to this work include: Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Richard McCord, Amy Hoey, Edward Hahnenberg, Anthony Ciorra, Kieran Scott, Bishop Howard Hubbard, Lisa Cataldo, Claudio Burgaleta, Donna Eschenauer, Zeni Fox, Janet Ruffing, Michael Horan, and Harold Horell.

Panel Discussion

Students gathered on October 6th for a panel discussion moderated by Dr. John Harrington. Panelists included Dr. Harold (Bud) Horell, Dr. Kieran Scott, Dr. Lisa Cataldo, and Dr. Donna Eschenauer. A book signing followed the event.

This collection of essays was inspired by Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord, the annual convocation sponsored by Fordham University’s Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education (GSRRE). The book is grounded in Fordham University’s commitment to the church and its mission in the world.

Professor Durka serving on four editorial boards

Gloria Durka, Ph.D., Professor of Religious Education, has been elected to the International Board of Consulting Editors for the Australian Journal of Religious Education.

She is also currently serving on the editorial boards of the Journal of Beliefs and Values (published in the UK), PANORAMA: The International Journal of Comparative Religious Education and Values (published in Germany), and the Journal of Teacher Education (published in Latvia).
