Job Announcement - Fordham GSRRE - Christian Spirituality

Faculty Position: Christian Spirituality

Fordham University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Christian Spirituality beginning August 2012. Rank is open. Applications require a completed Ph.D. in Spirituality (or equivalent). The successful candidate will be grounded in theology as well as another allied discipline, with ability to teach historical and contemporary courses. This position will involve teaching, student advising, scholarly productivity, receptivity towards distance learning, as well as institutional and professional service. The successful candidate will also be involved in the Master and Doctor of Ministry programs. The Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education especially welcomes applicants from diverse denominational and cultural backgrounds.

Interview with Dr. Tom Beaudoin in The Emerging Catholic Church

An interview with Prof. Tom Beaudoin has been published in a new book by Tom Roberts, religion journalist and editor of the National Catholic Reporter. The book is titled _The Emerging Catholic Church: A Community's Search for Itself_ (Orbis, 2011), and includes an interview with Prof. Beaudoin (pp. 184-187) about the pluralism of beliefs and practices within and on the edges of Catholicism in the United States.

Drs. Beaudoin and Cataldo take part in "Learning to Listen: Voices of Sexual Diversity and the Catholic Church"

GSRRE faculty Profs. Tom Beaudoin and Lisa Cataldo were a part of the Fordham conference "Learning to Listen: Voices of Sexual Diversity and the Catholic Church" last Friday at Lincoln Center. Professors Beaudoin and Cataldo served on the Planning Committee for the conference, which is part of a larger collaboration between Fordham, Union Theological Seminary, Yale Divinity School, and Fairfield University, titled "More Than a Monologue: Sexual Diversity and the Catholic Church." Prof. Beaudoin also served as a moderator for the first panel at Friday's conference, "Identity and Practice in Everyday Life." The series now moves to Union Theological Seminary on 1 October.
